Longbridge Is Now Live on ChatGPT Apps
Wondering how the market's doing today, or where NVDA is trading right now? You no longer need to open a separate app to find out. Longbridge has confirmed it is now listed in the ChatGPT Apps directory — any ChatGPT user can search "longbridge" in the app store, connect their account in a couple of clicks, and bring live Hong Kong, US and Singapore market data, along with their own portfolio, straight into a ChatGPT conversation.
Longbridge on ChatGPT Apps: What's Happened, and Why
Anyone can now open "Apps" within ChatGPT, search "longbridge", open the listing and tap "Connect" to install it. Alternatively, the direct link chatgpt.com/apps/longbridge gets you there in one step. Once installed, ChatGPT walks you through authorising the connection to your Longbridge account, after which you can start asking questions straight away.
This listing builds on a mechanism OpenAI opened up earlier, letting third-party developers submit apps for review before they go live in ChatGPT's built-in directory at chatgpt.com/apps. One point worth flagging: OpenAI folded the App directory into a newly launched Plugin directory on 9 July 2026, though existing app connections were unaffected. In practice, that means you can still find and install Longbridge either through the Apps entry point or by searching its name in a conversation — nothing changes on the user's end.
ChatGPT Can Already Discuss Stocks — So Why Connect Longbridge?
On its own, ChatGPT can explain concepts and run scenario analysis, but it can't read live prices or recognise your actual holdings — connecting Longbridge fills both gaps.
Where ChatGPT Falls Short on Its Own
Plenty of investors already turn to ChatGPT with stock questions, but the answers tend to stay at the level of general explanation. The free tier of ChatGPT is a decent, no-commitment starting point — it can walk you through complex financial concepts and run scenario stress-tests against historical data. What it can't do is pull live market data, tailor anything to your actual risk tolerance, or keep track of positions you already hold. It's also worth noting that ChatGPT doesn't have a particular edge at forecasting share prices — models tend to extrapolate recent returns in a straight line, often more optimistically than the underlying data really supports. It's better suited to organising your thinking than to picking stocks outright.
What Changes Once Longbridge Is Connected
That's precisely the gap this listing is meant to close. Once your account is connected, ChatGPT can pull live quotes, fundamentals and news for Hong Kong, US and Singapore stocks, and it recognises your own portfolio too, so the analysis is grounded in your actual positions rather than staying purely conceptual. Whether you're screening stocks, reviewing a portfolio or researching a company, it can turn any of that into a visual, web-style report, rather than data you'd otherwise have to pick apart line by line yourself.
How This Relates to Skill and MCP
This sits alongside the AI Skill that Longbridge's open platform has been building out for some time — Claude, Cursor and Gemini can already connect to a Longbridge account via Skill and the MCP protocol. Listing officially in the ChatGPT Apps directory essentially packages that same capability into a one-tap install, with no technical setup required.
To be fair, different AI assistants have different strengths. Claude tends to handle long documents particularly well, which suits picking apart prospectuses, annual reports and regulatory consultations; Gemini integrates more tightly with Google's ecosystem. Which one suits you best really comes down to how you already work and invest. If you're already living in ChatGPT and want real market data without switching apps, this listing is a fairly direct answer. Longbridge also picked up the "AI-Brokerage" award at the SBR Technology Excellence Awards 2026, which is at least some independent recognition of its AI product line.
What Longbridge Adds Inside ChatGPT
Once your account is connected, Longbridge brings five main categories of information into the ChatGPT conversation you're already using — the kind of information you'd otherwise need a separate app to look up.
Portfolio and Account Lookups
With your account connected, ChatGPT can read your holdings, total assets and buying power, and break down concentration by sector, so you can check where things stand without opening a trading app. Anything touching your account or positions sits behind a separate permission on the authorisation screen and requires your trade password to verify, so you decide whether to switch it on.
Live Quotes and Fundamentals
Longbridge's current coverage inside ChatGPT Apps spans live quotes, charts, order-book data, fundamentals, analyst research, an economic calendar, announcements and short-interest data for Hong Kong, US and Singapore stocks (per Longbridge's own published scope, verified August 2026). Options, futures and cryptocurrency aren't part of this ChatGPT Apps listing.
Company and Peer Research
For a specific company, ChatGPT can pull together its business breakdown, financial health, current valuation and institutional consensus into a structured report; peer-comparison questions let you line up two or more companies' PE ratios, market caps and similar metrics side by side without looking each one up separately.
Stock Screening
You can screen for stocks against concrete criteria — market cap, PE, revenue growth, ROE — and ChatGPT pulls live data to return a list of what actually matches, rather than a general discussion of screening logic.
News Summaries
For a given market or company, ChatGPT can summarise the day's key news, which is handy for a quick read on sentiment before or after market hours.
These features sit within market data lookups and research support. None of them constitutes investment advice, a recommendation or an offer, and every trading decision remains the user's own to make and confirm.
Four Steps to Connect: From Search to Permissions
Step 1: Open Apps and Search
In ChatGPT, open "Apps" from the top bar or sidebar, or go straight to chatgpt.com/apps in your browser, then search "longbridge" in the search box.
Step 2: Review the Listing and Tap Connect
Selecting Longbridge takes you to its listing page, which sets out what it covers: researching US and HK markets through ChatGPT, with access to quotes, charts, order-book data, fundamentals, analyst research, an economic calendar, news, announcements, a stock screener, unusual-activity alerts, rankings and short-interest data. Confirm, then tap "Connect".
Step 3: Sign in with Longbridge
A window headed "Add Longbridge to ChatGPT" appears, setting out what will be shared: your IP address, approximate location, and a summary of your recent conversation intent within ChatGPT. This is OpenAI's standard app-authorisation disclosure and isn't specific to Longbridge. Tap "Sign in with Longbridge" and you'll be taken to the authorisation page on Longbridge's developer platform.
Step 4: Set the Authorisation Scope and Confirm
The authorisation page lists the available permissions by category. Market data and similar lookups are included automatically; "Account & Positions", "Trade Order Lookup" and "Trade Execution" involve your assets and order placement, and each requires a trade password for extra verification. The point of this step is informed consent, so read each item carefully and only tick what you actually need. Once you've agreed to the User Data Authorisation Letter, tap "Confirm" to finish connecting.
Once connected, you're taken back to the ChatGPT conversation window with Longbridge's tag already attached to the input box. From then on, in that thread or a new one, typing "@Longbridge" before your question tells ChatGPT to pull the answer from Longbridge, so there's no need to reconnect each time.
At no point does your Longbridge login password get typed into or shared with ChatGPT. If you later switch on trade-related features, the trade password acts as a further layer of verification.
Getting the Prompts Right: Practical Examples
Once connected, typing "@Longbridge" followed by your question tells ChatGPT to pull the answer from Longbridge. A few useful directions to try:
- Quotes and prices: "@Longbridge Check today's price and percentage change for 700.HK and NVDA.US"
- Earnings: "@Longbridge Summarise the key points from Tesla's latest quarterly results and how they compare with the previous quarter"
- Portfolio diagnosis: "@Longbridge Markets have been volatile lately. Run a diagnosis on my current portfolio — how concentrated am I by sector, and which position carries the most risk exposure right now? Present the results as a visual HTML dashboard."
- Stock screening: "@Longbridge Help me screen for US stocks with a market cap above 10 billion dollars, PE below 20, revenue growth above 30%, and ROE above 25%. Present the results as a visual HTML dashboard."
- Peer comparison: "@Longbridge Compare the PE ratios and market caps of AMD and NVDA"
- Company deep-dives: "@Longbridge Give me a full deep-dive on Google — business breakdown, financial health, current valuation, and what the institutional consensus looks like right now. Present the results as a visual HTML dashboard."
- News: "@Longbridge Summarise today's key news across the Hong Kong market"
The portfolio diagnosis, stock-screening and deep-dive prompts above come from Longbridge's own demonstration: add "present the results as a visual HTML dashboard" to a single question, and ChatGPT pulls your holdings, live quotes and fundamentals, then turns them into a structured, web-style report. A portfolio diagnosis, for instance, lists total assets, buying power and risk level, then breaks concentration down by sector; a stock screen returns the number of matches, the top composite score, the lowest PE, and a sector breakdown of matched market cap; a company deep-dive breaks down revenue mix and geographic exposure, and pulls together a bull, base and bear view. The specific figures shown in these demonstrations are illustrative only, move with the market, and aren't a recommendation on any of the stocks mentioned.
The dashboards generated this way also carry their own disclosure in the footer: that the report is for research purposes only, isn't investment advice, may use simplified formatting, and that all data should be verified before trading. That's consistent with Longbridge's usual compliance requirements.
What Makes a Good Prompt?
Naming exact criteria, asking for a specific output format, and requesting more than one angle are the three most useful habits to borrow from Longbridge's own demonstrations.
- Be specific and quantify your criteria. Naming exact thresholds, such as market cap, PE, revenue growth and ROE, gets you a far more precise screen than "find me some good stocks".
- Ask for a specific output format. Adding "present the results as a visual HTML dashboard" turns scattered data points into a structured report that's easier to read, and easier to screenshot and save, than a wall of text.
- Ask for more than one angle. When researching a company, asking for bull, base and bear cases side by side avoids settling for a single, possibly one-sided, conclusion.
- Watch for data-quality flags. In Longbridge's own demo, the AI flagged a case where two screened stocks shared identical metrics rather than quietly treating them as clean, a reminder to check the underlying data yourself before acting on any screen.
- Use follow-ups. Within the same thread, you can keep drilling down, starting with the whole portfolio and then asking about a specific sector or position, without repeating all the context each time.
- Don't type in anything that identifies you personally. There's no need to enter a full account number or identification details in the chat. Longbridge Skill already verifies who you are through the authorisation itself, and typing that information in only adds unnecessary exposure.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
The Longbridge app within ChatGPT provides market data lookups and research support; it doesn't constitute investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer. Every trading decision remains the user's own, made and confirmed independently, and prices and quantities should be checked before any order is placed. It's also worth being clear that "LongbridgeAI" refers specifically to Longbridge's research and analysis tools, which are separate from the execution of licensed trading business, and the two shouldn't be conflated. Longbridge Securities (Hong Kong) Limited is a corporation licensed by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), holding Type 1 (dealing in securities), Type 2 (dealing in futures contracts), Type 4 (advising on securities) and Type 9 (asset management) licences. Longbridge Securities (Singapore) is licensed and regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
