The investment banking division of Goldman Sachs Group consists of two parts: financial advisory and underwriting. The trading and principal investments division helps clients transact with corporations, financial institutions, investment funds, governments, and individuals, and engages in market-making, trading, and investing in fixed-income products, equities, currencies, commodities, and their derivatives. In addition, Goldman Sachs Group is also involved in market-making and professional services for stocks and options exchanges, and provides trade settlement services to clients at major stock, options, and futures exchanges around the world. The company was founded in 1869 and is headquartered in New York.
