# A.P. Møller - Mærsk A/S: All future vessels passing through the Red Sea will detour around the Cape of Good Hope.

According to media reports on Friday, A.P. Møller - Mærsk A/S stated that, in light of the recent attack on the "Hangzhou" vessel in the Red Sea, all vessels intending to transit the Red Sea/Aden Gulf in the foreseeable future will be diverted southward, around the Cape of Good Hope.

Previously, A.P. Møller - Mærsk A/S announced on Tuesday, January 2nd, that it would continue to suspend all shipping through the Red Sea and the Aden Gulf, with the specific resumption date to be announced separately, and subsequently made this decision.

A.P. Møller - Mærsk A/S warns:

> The situation is still evolving and highly unstable. All available intelligence confirms that the security risks remain at a high level. Customers are advised to prepare for the ongoing complex situation in the region and the significant disruption to the global supply chain.
