# WATER INDUSTRY Subsidiary Awarded Service Contract for Kitchen Waste Collection in West Kowloon

Zhitong App News: WATER INDUSTRY (01129) has announced that its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Hong Kong Glass Resources Limited (Glass Resources), has been awarded a 39-month service contract (Food Waste Contract) by the Environmental Protection Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (EPD) for an approximate amount of HKD 87 million. Under the Food Waste Contract, Glass Resources is responsible for providing the following services: collecting food waste at designated locations in West Kowloon; transporting the collected food waste to approved food waste treatment facilities; organizing community promotion activities; and expanding the collection network to increase food waste recycling rates.

The Group is committed to promoting environmental protection and continues to develop and expand its recycling business in Hong Kong, China. With the significant expansion of the recycling market in Hong Kong, the Group will seize market opportunities by increasing its participation and developing this green business. With the implementation of solid waste charging on August 1, 2024, it is expected to open up new business prospects for Glass Resources in the field of recycling services and consolidate its position in the recycling industry in Hong Kong, China.
