# DeepMind CEO: Google will invest over $100 billion in AI

According to media reports on Tuesday, Demis Hassabis, CEO of DeepMind, Google's AI research department, stated that Google will spend over $100 billion developing artificial intelligence technology over time. He also mentioned that Google has more powerful computing capabilities than competitors like Microsoft.

Hassabis said:

> This is one of the reasons why we collaborated with Google in 2014, because we knew that to achieve general artificial intelligence, we need a large amount of computing power.
> 
> The global interest sparked by OpenAI's ChatGPT indicates that the public is ready to accept artificial intelligence systems, even though they still have flaws and are prone to errors
