# TechInsights: Global smartphone wholesale ASP reaches a new high in 2023, expected to continue growing in the next five years

According to the "88 Country Smartphone Revenue and ASP Forecast" report released by TechInsights' smartphone research team, the global smartphone wholesale average selling price (ASP) reached an all-time high in 2023 and is projected to grow within the forecast period until 2029.

TechInsights pointed out that among the 88 countries/regions tracked, 17 of them will reach the highest average selling price of smartphones in 2024, including South Korea. South Korea led in 2023 and is expected to continue leading during the forecast period. The United Kingdom is projected to surpass the United States in 2024, becoming the third.

TechInsights predicts that Apple will not have any major innovations in terms of external specifications in 2024, so Apple's dominant position in the United States will experience a longer refresh cycle, which may lead to a decrease in sales and a decrease in average selling price. However, TechInsights believes that with the launch of Apple's foldable iPhone in the coming years, the United States will reclaim the third position from the United Kingdom within the forecast window.

TechInsights stated that the top three countries in terms of wholesale revenue for smartphones are China, the United States, and India. Among the 88 countries/regions, India ranks 71st in terms of average selling price, but due to the huge sales volume of smartphones, India ranks third in smartphone revenue. With a large population and a market that is far from saturated, India has become one of the best markets for smartphone manufacturers to invest in. TechInsights' report "88 Country Smartphone Revenue and ASP Forecast" provides insights into the revenue potential of smartphones in specific countries, recommended for all stakeholders in the smartphone industry, including smartphone suppliers, operators, retailers, distributors, and component manufacturers, to help them formulate action strategies to some extent
