# Tesla is under investigation by the NHTSA for fixing issues with the Autopilot software

> The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) confirmed on Friday that the safety regulatory agency has begun investigating whether Tesla's recall of over 2 million vehicles last December to install a new autopilot system is sufficient. The recall for software fixes covers Model Y, X, S, 3, and Cybertruck vehicles equipped with Autopilot produced in the United States from 2012 to 2024. Following preliminary test results on repaired vehicles and concerns that vehicles with the recall software update may be involved in collision incidents, NHTSA initiated the investigation. While Tesla has released software updates to address potential issues, NHTSA cited Tesla's statement that some remedies require owners to opt in and allow drivers to revert versions at any time. In December last year, Tesla stated that its largest-ever recall was to better ensure driver attention when using its advanced driver assistance systems

According to the VETIM Finance APP, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the United States confirmed on Friday that the safety regulatory agency has begun investigating whether Tesla (TSLA.US), which announced a recall of over 2 million vehicles last December to install a new autopilot system, is sufficient. This recall investigation of software fixes covers Model Y, X, S, 3, and Cybertruck vehicles equipped with Autopilot produced in the United States from 2012 to 2024.

After discovering that vehicles with the recall software update may be involved in collision events, and based on the preliminary test results of repaired vehicles by NHTSA, an investigation was launched.

Although Tesla has released software updates to address potential issues, NHTSA cited Tesla's statement that some remedial measures require owners to opt in and also allow drivers to revert to previous versions at any time. In December last year, Tesla stated that its largest recall ever was to better ensure that drivers focus while using its advanced driver assistance system
