# Canalys: MediaTek maintains its leading position in the smartphone processor market in the first quarter, with a global market share of 39%

According to the Zhitong Finance and Economics APP, Canalys released data on smartphone processor manufacturers in the first quarter of 2024 (based on smartphone shipments): MediaTek maintained its position as the top smartphone processor market with a global market share of 39%. Shipments of smartphones equipped with Apple processors decreased by 16% year-on-year, but Apple (AAPL.US) still accounted for 41% of the total global smartphone revenue.

MediaTek's processor shipments reached 1.141 billion units, a 17% year-on-year increase. Xiaomi (01810), Samsung, and OPPO were the top three contributors, accounting for 23%, 20%, and 17% of MediaTek's smartphone processor shipments, respectively.

Qualcomm (QCOM.US) saw an 11% increase in smartphone processor shipments, reaching 75 million units. 46% of the shipments came from Samsung and Xiaomi.
