To speed up development and improve results, Claude has simplified this process, allowing users to create high-quality prompts more easily. Now, you can generate, test, and evaluate your prompts in the Anthropic Console. Claude has added new features, including automatically generating test cases and comparing outputs, allowing you to leverage Claude to generate the best responses. ## Generating Prompts Writing a good prompt is as simple as describing the task to Claude. The Console features a prompt generator powered by Claude 3.5 Sonnet. Simply describe the task (e.g., "classify customer support requests"), and Claude will generate a high-quality prompt for you. You can use Claude's new feature to generate test cases, provide input variables for the prompt such as customer support messages, and run the prompt to see Claude's response. Alternatively, you can manually input test cases. ## **Generating Test Suites** By testing prompts with a series of real-world inputs, you can have higher confidence in the quality of the prompt before deploying it to production. With the new evaluation feature, you can do this directly in the Console without manually managing tests in spreadsheets or code. Manually add new test cases or import them from a CSV file, or use the "generate test cases" feature to let Claude generate them. Modify the test cases as needed, then run all tests with a single click. Review and adjust Claude's understanding of the requirements for each variable to finely control the generated test cases. ## Evaluating Model Responses and Iterating Prompts Optimizing prompts is now easier, as you can create new versions of prompts and rerun the test suite to iterate and improve results quickly. Claude has also added a feature to compare multiple prompt outputs side by side You can even have experts rate response quality on a 5-point scale to assess whether the changes have improved response quality. These features make the process of improving model performance faster and more accessible. The test case generation and output comparison functions are open to all Anthropic Console users.
