# US stock market closed for Labor Day, with slight declines in the three major futures indices, while European stocks collectively fell

On Monday, the US stock market was closed for Labor Day, with the three major futures indices edging down slightly, while European stocks also declined slightly.

As of the time of publication, Nasdaq futures fell by 0.19%, S&P futures fell by 0.17%, and Dow futures fell by 0.13%.

European stocks collectively declined, with the pan-European Stoxx 600 index falling by 0.3%, and the stock markets in Germany, France, the UK, and Italy all declining.

The US Dollar Index held steady.

The Japanese yen weakened, with the USD/JPY exchange rate rising by 0.38% to 146.73 yen.
