# Chen Jiaqi: CIES complements the project investment work of Hong Kong Investment Company

> Chen Jiaqi stated that CIES plans to complement the project investment of Hong Kong Investment Company, aiming to support the development of the Hong Kong venture capital ecosystem. CIES requires investors to invest at least 30 million RMB, with 3 million RMB allocated to the technology industry. Hong Kong Investment Company will be responsible for managing the technology investment portion and plans to collaborate with various venture capital funds. The company also plans to implement three major initiatives by 2025 to help start-ups expand overseas, especially in Southeast Asia and the Middle East

The Hong Kong Capital Investment Entrant Scheme (CIES) started accepting applications in March this year. Qualified individuals must invest at least HKD 30 million in permissible investment assets, with a minimum of HKD 3 million to be allocated to support key industries such as Techtronic.

During a meeting with the media, the CEO of Hong Kong Investment Company, Chen Jiaqi, stated that Hong Kong's venture capital ecosystem has unique advantages, noting that there are capable and willing individuals in Hong Kong who wish to support its development. The HKD 3 million investment in the Techtronic sector under the CIES plan will be managed by the Hong Kong Investment Company. Details of the capital management arrangements will be announced later, with the aim of more accurately assisting the development of Hong Kong's venture capital ecosystem.

Chen Jiaqi mentioned that the Hong Kong Investment Company will consider collaborating with different venture capital funds in the form of a parent fund or a guiding fund. These funds must not only have experience and a track record but also commit to contributing to Hong Kong's future. She also stated that the CIES and the investment work of the Hong Kong Investment Company will complement each other, with a focus on framework details such as setting investment standards, selecting fund partners, etc. A significant amount of groundwork has already been laid.

Chen Jiaqi pointed out that the Hong Kong Investment Company plans to implement three major initiatives by 2025, including leading startups to go global, starting with Southeast Asia and the Middle East. She mentioned that the Hong Kong Investment Company had assisted the local brand Spark EV in expanding its business to Thailand, drawing inspiration from this successful case. With an increasing number of projects and partners of the Hong Kong Investment Company, it is hoped that after being integrated into the ecosystem, invested companies and partners can have more exchanges, making the development of startups in application scenarios and investor relations smoother.

She also mentioned that the investment work of the Hong Kong Investment Company is progressing rapidly. As the invested projects accelerate and increase in scale, the synergistic effect of the ecosystem becomes more significant. More projects will be announced at the appropriate time in the future
