# US media: EU 9 countries in the Mediterranean region issue a joint statement calling for further support for Lebanon and its people

> According to US media reports, 9 EU member states in the Mediterranean region have issued a joint statement amidst escalating conflicts between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. They have pledged to support the Lebanese armed forces in regaining control of the southern territory and have called for further support for Lebanon and its people in order to bring peace to the war-torn region. These 9 countries include Malta, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, and Spain

According to a report by the Associated Press on the 11th, as the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon continues to escalate, nine European Union member states in the Mediterranean region issued a joint statement on the same day, pledging to support the Lebanese armed forces in "regaining control" of the southern territory of the country, and calling for further support for Lebanon and its people to bring peace to the war-torn region. The report states that the nine countries include Malta, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, and Spain.
