# Starting next Tuesday, the trading hours of the Japanese stock market will be extended by 30 minutes

> Starting from November 5, the stock trading hours of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in Japan will be extended by 30 minutes to 5.5 hours, marking the first extension since 1954. In addition, the Tokyo Stock Exchange will introduce a "closing auction" system to enhance the transparency of closing prices. Previously, the New York Stock Exchange also planned to extend the trading hours of its fully electronic exchange, NYSE Arca, for U.S. stocks to 22 hours each business day, pending regulatory approval

Starting from November 5th (next Tuesday), the stock trading hours of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in Japan will be extended by 30 minutes to 5.5 hours. This marks the first extension of trading hours at the Tokyo Stock Exchange since 1954, after a gap of 70 years. In addition, to enhance the transparency of the closing price formation, the Tokyo Stock Exchange will introduce a "closing auction" system, which will only accept buy and sell orders for determining the closing price during the last 5 minutes of trading. Not long ago, the New York Stock Exchange also announced plans to extend trading hours—specifically, to extend the trading hours of its fully electronic exchange, NYSE Arca, to 22 hours on each business day, pending regulatory approval
