# Tesla Robot "Milestone": 22 Degrees of Freedom Dexterous Hand Arrives

> Tesla's official robot account released a new update on November 28, showcasing a new dexterous hand with 22 degrees of freedom, capable of flexibly catching a tennis ball. On November 28th local time, Tesla's official account for robots released a new update: a new hand has been prepared to welcome Black Friday. In the video, Optimus steadily catches a tennis ball thrown towards it and puts it down, with fingers that can flex relatively well. The dexterous hand is the most striking feature of Tesla's second-generation Optimus. Tesla Optimus engineer Milan Kovac referred to the newly showcased dexterous hand as a "milestone achievement." According to him, compared to the previous generation product, the new hand/forearm has double the degrees of freedom. Kovac stated that the aforementioned video was completed in real-time through remote operation in the laboratory, and Tesla will soon manufacture robots equipped with the new dexterous hand
