# Sony rises over 2%, reaching a new stage high as institutions are optimistic about its unique positioning

> Sony's stock price rose by more than 2%, reaching a high of $22.67, the highest since February 2022. It is expected that the operating profit for the fiscal year ending in March next year will reach 1.31 trillion yen, with the entertainment business contributing about 60% of the overall profit. Mizuho's Yasuo Nakane pointed out that Sony has a unique horizontal and vertical layout in the fields of film, music, gaming, and anime, along with advanced electronic technology, placing it in a unique position in the market

Sony rose over 2%, reaching a high of $22.67, a new high since February 2022. Sony's stock in Japan increased nearly 3% today, once again setting a historical high. In terms of news, Sony previously announced that for the current fiscal year ending in March next year, it expects operating profit to reach 1.31 trillion yen, approximately six times that of fiscal 1999. The entertainment business is expected to contribute 60% of the overall profit, while the electronics business is no longer reported as a separate department. Yasuo Nakane, head of global technology research at Mizuho, interpreted that Sony has a horizontal axis in film, music, gaming, and anime, with a vertical axis from production to distribution. This company also possesses electronic technology, including image sensors, cameras, and software, placing it in a unique position compared to Apple, Netflix, or Samsung
