# The latest research findings support Harvard's discovery: Novo Nordisk's weight loss drug Ozempic is associated with rare visual loss

Large-scale trial results indicate that Novo Nordisk's weight loss drug Ozempic is associated with rare visual loss, supporting earlier research findings from Harvard University this year. Obese patients using Ozempic are more than twice as likely to be diagnosed with NAION. NAION occurs when reduced blood flow damages the visual nerve.
