# The Shanghai local website platform has successively released special announcements on algorithm governance and feedback channels for complaints and reports

> Starting from November 2024, the Shanghai Municipal Cyberspace Administration, in conjunction with multiple departments, will launch a special action titled "Clear and Bright Pujiang: Governance of Typical Algorithm Issues on Online Platforms," requiring local websites and platforms to conduct self-examinations and corrections regarding algorithm issues. Platforms such as Xiaohongshu, Dewu, and Bilibili have already issued governance announcements and established complaint reporting channels, promising to optimize algorithms based on feedback to promote positive algorithmic outcomes

Since November 2024, according to the joint deployment of the Central Cyberspace Administration and four other departments, the Shanghai Municipal Cyberspace Administration, in conjunction with the Municipal Communications Administration, Municipal Public Security Bureau, and Municipal Market Supervision Administration, has promoted the "Clear and Bright Pujiang: Governance of Typical Algorithm Issues on Online Platforms" special action. This action requires local websites and platforms in Shanghai to conduct self-examination and rectification regarding key issues such as "information cocooning," manipulation of rankings to hype trends, infringement of the rights of new employment form workers, big data "price discrimination," and the lack of algorithms serving for good. Recently, under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Cyberspace Administration, platforms such as Xiaohongshu, Dewu, Himalaya, Bilibili, Pinduoduo, Ele.me, Dianping, Ctrip, SOUL, Dingdong Maicai, Xingye, and Yuewen have successively released governance announcements for the "Clear and Bright Pujiang: Governance of Typical Algorithm Issues on Online Platforms" special action, and have announced channels for netizen complaints and feedback, expressing their willingness to accept social supervision. They will adjust and optimize algorithm applications based on the issues raised by netizens, promoting the application of algorithms for good
