# 4 injured in emergency evacuation of plane after aborted Atlanta takeoff

> Four passengers were injured during the emergency evacuation of Delta Airlines Flight 2668 in Atlanta after an aborted takeoff due to an engine issue. The situation caused additional delays at the airport, which was under a winter storm warning. Delta Airlines has not confirmed if weather conditions contributed to the aborted flight.

Four passengers were injured while deboarding a Delta Airlines flight in Atlanta after an aborted takeoff, according to a Friday statement from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

“The crew of Delta Air Lines Flight 2668 aborted takeoff at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport around 9:05 a.m. local time on Friday, Jan. 10, due to a reported engine issue,” the agency issued in a statement.

“Passengers exited the aircraft on the runway.”

The FAA is launching an investigation into the incident after those on board exited via the emergency inflatable slides.

One passenger was taken to a local hospital after sustaining injuries while three others were treated at the scene, according to the Associated Press.

The incident compounded delays at the airport, with Georgia under a winter storm warning until Saturday.

Delta said it was unclear whether the weather had anything to do with the aborted flight, the AP reported.
