# Foreign companies have filed a 337 investigation application regarding specific polyvinylidene fluoride resin

On January 13, 2025, Syensqo SA, Solvay Specialty Polymers, USA LLC, and Solvay Specialty Polymers Italy S.P.A. filed a petition with the U.S. International Trade Commission under Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930, claiming that specific polyvinylidene fluoride resins exported to the U.S., imported into the U.S., and sold in the U.S. infringe their patent rights, requesting the initiation of a 337 investigation and the issuance of a limited exclusion order and a cease-and-desist order. Five Chinese companies are involved in the case
