# Shanghai held a guidance meeting on personalized recommendation algorithm classification to supervise and guide website platforms in optimizing algorithm recommendation mechanisms

On January 16th, the Municipal Cyberspace Administration, in conjunction with the Municipal Communications Administration, focused on personalized recommendation algorithms and held the second algorithm governance classification guidance meeting. They urged and guided local website platforms to optimize algorithm recommendation mechanisms, enrich the "toolbox" to break the "information cocoon," protect the legitimate rights and interests of internet users, and promote the positive and beneficial application of algorithms. Representatives from 20 key platforms, including Xiaohongshu, Bilibili, Ximalaya, Hupu, and Qutoutiao, attended the meeting
