# Accused of illegally transmitting user data, Xiaomi claims to always prioritize user data security

According to a report by Reuters, the Austrian initiative organization "Noyb" has named and accused TikTok, Shein, Xiaomi (01810.HK), and three other Chinese companies of illegally transferring EU user data to China. A spokesperson for Xiaomi in the EU responded that they are aware of a non-profit organization filing a complaint with European data protection authorities and are currently reviewing the allegations made.

The spokesperson emphasized that respecting user privacy has always been a moral red line that cannot be crossed in the internet industry and is the cornerstone for companies to earn user trust. They reiterated that the group always prioritizes user data security, including transparency, user control over data, ensuring data security, and compliance with global privacy standards. They also stated that Xiaomi's privacy policy complies with regulations such as GDPR in relevant markets, and the storage and processing of user data in operating markets comply with local laws.

The group stated that if any national data protection authority seeks assistance from Xiaomi due to this complaint, they will fully cooperate to resolve the issue
