# Trip.com: Search volume for Taiwan tourism-related topics increased by 48%

On January 17th, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the mainland will soon resume group tours to Taiwan for residents of Fujian and Shanghai. Wall Street Journal learned that three hours after the announcement, the search volume for Taiwan-related content on the Trip.com platform increased by 48%. Shanghai and Fujian are the main sources of mainland residents traveling to Taiwan, accounting for 30% in 2019. Currently, direct flights from Shanghai, Xiamen, Fuzhou, Kinmen, and other places to Taipei and Kaohsiung have been opened, with round-trip average prices around 4,000 yuan during the Spring Festival
