According to news from Shanghai Stock Exchange e-Interaction, recently an investor asked Zijin Rural Commercial Bank whether the bank "participates in the restructuring of Jiangsu Rural Credit Cooperatives" and "whether it participates in the joint restructuring of Jiangsu Rural Commercial Bank." In response, Zijin Rural Commercial Bank stated: "Our bank does not participate in the restructuring. For details, please refer to the announcement issued by the Jiangsu Rural Credit Cooperative Union regarding the establishment of Jiangsu Rural Commercial Joint Stock Bank Co., Ltd." This statement has sparked market speculation that Zijin Rural Commercial Bank will be "independent" from the future Jiangsu Rural Commercial Bank joint banking system. In this regard, reporters learned from informed sources that Zijin Rural Commercial Bank will continue to remain within the Jiangsu Rural Credit system. Additionally, reporters also learned from relevant personnel of the bank that the market's speculation about the bank becoming "independent" from the future provincial-level rural commercial joint banking system is somewhat inaccurate. The bank will still maintain its previous relationship with the Jiangsu Rural Commercial Joint Bank being established on the basis of the Jiangsu Provincial Union. On September 9, 2024, the Jiangsu Provincial Union held a member meeting to review and approve relevant proposals, deciding to establish Jiangsu Rural Commercial Joint Bank based on the Jiangsu Provincial Union. Currently, the establishment of Jiangsu Rural Commercial Joint Bank has received approval from the National Financial Regulatory Administration. At present, the Jiangsu Provincial Union has 60 rural commercial banks, including 6 A-share listed rural commercial banks.
