# Bezos vs. Musk, the battle for the world's richest in space begins! The show officially starts

Old rivals face off in a new arena! SpaceX and Blue Origin conduct rocket tests on the same day.

On January 16th, Central Time, Elon Musk's SpaceX conducted the seventh test flight of its next-generation heavy-lift rocket "Starship."

On the same day, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin successfully completed the maiden flight of its giant rocket New Glenn, officially entering the orbital space sector.

In the U.S. commercial space sector, Musk has dominated for years, and with the successful maiden flight of New Glenn, the "space race" between Bezos and Musk has reached a new milestone.
