# South Korea's online shopping transaction volume increased by 5.8% last year, setting a new record

According to the South Korean Statistical Office, South Korea's online shopping transaction volume increased by 5.8% year-on-year last year, reaching KRW 242.09 trillion, a new high since 2001. Among them, the transaction volume for food and beverages, dining services, and travel significantly increased, with growth rates ranging from 9.3% to 14.8%.

Mobile shopping volume increased by 7.9% year-on-year, reaching KRW 182.36 trillion. Among these, agricultural, livestock, and aquatic products rose by 20.5%, and food and beverages increased by 18.5%. Electronic vouchers fell by 13.7%, bag categories decreased by 9.4%, and sports and outdoor products declined by 3.7%.

As for December last year, online shopping volume rose by 3.2% to KRW 21.21 trillion, while mobile shopping increased by 5.2% to KRW 16.21 trillion
