A responsible person from the National Development and Reform Commission stated that a series of measures will be taken to promote the continuous improvement of China's logistics infrastructure network, enhance operational efficiency, and facilitate the continuous reduction of logistics costs across society. The latest data shows that by the end of 2024, the total number of national logistics hubs in China will increase to 151, achieving basic coverage and effective radiation to cities with a regional GDP of over 400 billion yuan, with logistics hubs related to industrial development and consumption accounting for nearly half. Currently, the railway port entry rate for national coastal ports and major ports along the Yangtze River has exceeded 90%. In 2024, the nationwide port container rail-water intermodal transport volume is expected to grow by approximately 15% year-on-year. The development of multimodal transport is accelerating, and a modern logistics operation system of "corridor + hub + network" is rapidly taking shape. Wu Junyang, the first-level inspector of the Economic and Trade Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, stated that next, the National Development and Reform Commission will work with relevant departments and localities to deepen the reform of the railway freight market, innovate multimodal transport service products, accelerate the implementation of railway freight network projects and inland waterway transport system connectivity projects, support qualified regions in building international logistics hub centers and bulk commodity resource allocation hubs, and promote new and greater achievements in effectively reducing logistics costs across society, better supporting the construction of a new development pattern
