# Official announcement: CQGAS Group's implementation of rectification for gas charging issues is inadequate, and a fine of 8.1 million yuan is proposed

After investigation, since April 2024, when the issue of Chongqing Gas Group overcharging gas fees was addressed, the company has not deeply learned from the lessons, and the implementation of rectification responsibilities has been inadequate. The rectification work has been superficial and ineffective. Currently, there are still issues such as chaotic meter reading cycles, illegal estimations, incorrect readings, and insufficient meter reading personnel, which infringe upon consumers' legitimate rights and interests. No issues have been found regarding price gouging, inaccurate gas meter measurements, gas quality, remote control changes to gas meter measurements, or meter replacements leading to increased gas fees. The market regulatory department intends to impose severe penalties for its illegal activities, ordering Chongqing Gas Group to rectify immediately, with a proposed total fine of 8.1 million yuan. The investigation team has reported the relevant situation to the company's superior unit, ordering it to conduct an in-depth internal investigation, hold relevant responsible persons accountable, and establish a special working group to stay at Chongqing Gas Group for a three-month special rectification, urging and guiding the comprehensive and thorough implementation of rectification work
