According to customs data statistics, from January to December 2024, China imported approximately 5.25 million tons of lithium concentrate, a year-on-year increase of about 31%, mainly sourced from Australia, Brazil, Zimbabwe, and other countries; net imports of lithium carbonate were 231,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of about 55%; net exports of lithium hydroxide were 113,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of about 11%; net exports of lithium nickel cobalt manganese oxide were 10,900 tons, with net exports in 2023 being 2,600 tons, a year-on-year increase of about 319%; net imports of lithium nickel cobalt aluminum oxide were 10,300 tons, a year-on-year decrease of about 8%; the import volume of lithium iron phosphate increased to 90 tons, compared to 40 tons in 2023; the export volume of lithium iron phosphate increased to 3,285 tons, compared to around 1,100 tons in 2023.
