# U.S. Treasury Secretary: The Department of Efficiency has identified approximately $50 billion in potential savings to date

U.S. Treasury Secretary Becerra stated that American taxpayers do not need to worry about the security of their personal information, and the government efficiency team (DOGE) led by Elon Musk is committed to improving the efficiency of the federal government. He noted that the DOGE team has so far identified approximately $50 billion in potential savings, with cost-cutting measures ultimately expected to save an amount equivalent to "a few percentage points of GDP."
