# Hong Kong Buildings Department: A total of 14 building plans were approved in December last year, and 29 occupancy permits were issued for residential projects involving 6,121 units

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, the Hong Kong Buildings Department approved a total of 14 building plans last December, including 3 in Hong Kong Island, 5 in Kowloon, and 6 in the New Territories. The approved plans include 3 residential and mixed-use developments, 4 commercial developments, 4 factory and industrial developments, and 3 community service developments.

There are 13 construction projects approved to commence, which will provide a total building floor area of 55,692 square meters for residential use, involving 1,495 units; the building floor area for non-residential use reaches 47,657 square meters. In addition, the department also received a commencement notice for the superstructure of a construction project.

At the same time, the Hong Kong Buildings Department issued 29 occupation permits, including 8 in Hong Kong Island, 9 in Kowloon, and 12 in the New Territories. Among them, the building floor area for residential use is 377,282 square meters, totaling 6,121 units; the building floor area for non-residential use is 81,787 square meters.

The total estimated value of newly completed buildings in December 2024 is approximately HKD 20.2 billion
