# Alibaba Cloud announces PolarDB tops the global database performance and cost-effectiveness rankings

At the 2025 Alibaba Cloud PolarDB Developer Conference, Alibaba Cloud announced that PolarDB topped the global database performance and cost-effectiveness rankings, ranking first in the world. According to the International Transaction Processing Performance Council's official website, Alibaba Cloud's PolarDB cloud-native database achieved a performance that surpassed the previous record by 2.5 times, topping the TPC-C benchmark test rankings with a record of 2.055 billion transactions per minute and a unit cost of 0.8 RMB, setting a new world record for both TPC-C performance and cost-effectiveness. This record signifies that PolarDB's innovative cloud-native architecture not only breaks through the scalability bottleneck of a single cluster but also successfully withstands the peak of the largest scale of concurrent transactions globally, leading the world in multiple dimensions such as performance and scalability
