# Several large and medium-sized banks have inverted deposit interest rates, with some banks offering better rates for 1-year deposits than for 5-year deposits

The interest rate inversion has spread to domestic large and medium-sized banks. Following the existing short-term and long-term deposit rate inversion in several regional small banks, recent investigations have found that mainstream domestic banks such as China Construction Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Merchants Bank, and CITIC BANK have also experienced deposit rate inversions. Among them, China Merchants Bank's deposit products have even rarely shown the phenomenon of "depositing for 5 years is worse than depositing for 1 year." (Guangzhou Daily)
