XCMC and Rio Tinto deepen decarbonization cooperation in the steel industry value chain

On March 24th, a signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding on decarbonization cooperation in the steel industry between Hebei Iron and Steel Group and Rio Tinto was held in Beijing. According to the memorandum, Hebei Iron and Steel and Rio Tinto will innovate cooperation mechanisms, broaden cooperation areas, and establish a long-term stable partnership. They will jointly explore opportunities to reduce carbon emissions in the blast furnace ironmaking process through research on optimizing blast furnace charge structure and improving energy efficiency, and will collaborate in areas such as hydrogen metallurgy to promote sustainable development in the steel industry
