According to the Zhitong Finance APP, on March 31, 2025, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas released the latest Dallas Fed Manufacturing Index report. The data shows that in March, the index dropped sharply from -8.3 in February to -16.3, far below the market expectation of -12. This data reflects a further deterioration in Texas manufacturing activity, indicating that economic downward pressure still exists.

Despite the overall decline in the manufacturing index, the capacity utilization index rebounded from -8.7 to -2.3, and the new orders index also slightly rose from -3.5 to -0.1, showing that manufacturing demand has stabilized somewhat. However, the raw materials price paid index increased from 35.0 to 37.7, indicating that input cost pressures remain, while the wages and benefits index fell from 16.7 to 16.0, reflecting a slight easing of pressure on labor costs for businesses.

Additionally, the Chicago PMI (Purchasing Managers' Index) was released on the same day, showing that in March, the index rose from 45.5 to 47.6, better than the market expectation of 45.2, indicating an improvement in U.S. manufacturing activity.
