# Nintendo Switch 2 launch event live stream surpasses 2 million viewers in 10 minutes

On the evening of the 2nd, gaming giant Nintendo held a press conference for its next-generation console, Switch 2, at 9 PM. Within 10 minutes of the live broadcast starting, over 2 million people worldwide were watching simultaneously, showcasing its immense popularity.

To expand the marketing activities for Switch 2, Nintendo not only held a product launch event on April 2 but also immediately began trial play activities around the world to warm up for the new console's release. Many analysts believe that after its global market launch, Switch 2's sales could reach 8 million units within three months, doubling the sales of its predecessor during the same period.

According to Nintendo's official video introduction, while the appearance of Switch 2 is similar to its predecessor, the main body color is black, the screen has been upgraded to 8 inches, supporting 1080P resolution, and the controller now features a magnetic design for more intuitive assembly and disassembly. Additionally, a new Type-C port has been added to both the top and bottom of the console, allowing for simultaneous charging and output.

Industry insiders noted that when Nintendo first launched the Switch in 2017, it was unable to meet market demand, leading to shortages, reselling, and rampant scalping, which greatly dissatisfied consumers.
