# New York copper futures fell about 9.3% on non-farm payroll day, and copper stocks such as Freeport fell over 10%

On Friday (April 4, Non-Farm Payrolls day), at the close in New York, COMEX copper futures fell by 9.27%, reported at $4.3810 per pound, with a cumulative decline of 14.60% for the week. From Monday to Wednesday, it fluctuated narrowly around the $5.10 level, and accelerated its decline on Thursday and Friday. On that day, copper mining concept stocks Freeport, Teck Resources, Lundin Mining, and copper mining ETFs fell by 13.01% to 10.25%, Southern Copper Corporation fell by 9.62%, and the U.S. Copper Index ETF fell by 8.48%
