# During the Qingming Festival holiday in 2025, the number of domestic travelers increased by 6.3% year-on-year, and total spending increased by 6.7% year-on-year

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, during the Qingming Festival holiday in 2025, various regions will carry out diverse activities to commemorate the heroes and traditional cultural activities, as well as tourism activities, ensuring a safe, stable, and orderly national cultural and tourism market. According to calculations by the data center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, during the 3-day Qingming Festival holiday, there were 126 million domestic trips nationwide, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%; the total domestic travel expenditure reached 57.549 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.7%.

Many red tourism scenic spots held activities to commemorate the heroes during Qingming, where numerous tourists paid tribute to revolutionary martyrs and inherited the red gene through various forms such as visiting and participating in themed cultural activities. Teachers and students from Nanchang, Jiangxi recited "Lovely China" in unison at the memorial park of martyr Fang Zhimin. Representatives from all walks of life in Dandong, Liaoning read letters from volunteer soldiers in front of the Korean War Memorial Tower. In Shanghai, cultural experience activities such as making chrysanthemum flowers to express condolences and hand-painting kites to wish for peace were held in front of the Longhua Martyrs' Cemetery Square. Students and teachers from Gansu's Guyuan No. 2 Middle School and Hongwen Middle School have organized a 30-year tradition of walking 108 miles to the Mountain River Martyrs' Cemetery for tomb-sweeping. 950,000 students in Gansu participated in the "Qingming Commemoration of Heroes, Retracing the Long March" activity.

Cities across the country, including urban parks, forest parks, theme parks, historical and cultural districts, and key tourist villages and towns, welcomed a surge in visitors, with strong demand for themed activities such as flower viewing, spring outings, rural tourism, camping, and food. Traditional flower viewing spots like Donghu Cherry Garden in Wuhan, Hubei, Luoyang Peony Festival in Henan, and Wuxi Yuantouzhu Cherry Blossom Valley in Jiangsu topped the popularity charts. Tianjin, Yancheng in Jiangsu, Zhangjiajie in Hunan, Jinzhou in Hebei, Yili in Xinjiang, and Nyingchi in Tibet entered the best flower viewing period, hosting activities such as flower parades, folk performances, and walking events, attracting tourists from all over the country.

The supply of cultural and tourism products is rich, and holiday consumption is vibrant. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism released 32 rural tourism routes, with increased search popularity for rural experiences such as "seasonal picking" and "wild vegetable digging." Historical and cultural districts and tourist attractions in Beijing, Zhejiang, Shandong, Anhui, Jiangsu, and Guizhou have created consumption scenarios that integrate traditional culture with trendy fashion, launching projects that combine agriculture, culture, and tourism, such as tea picking and tea frying, and introducing new activities like "Park + Hiking/Cycling," digital collectibles, and VR games, as well as themed activities like "Enjoying Spring Scenery, Tasting Spring Flavors, Exploring Folk Customs," which have been well received by tourists.

Museums across the country have launched unique and educational cultural tourism activities. The Palace Museum held the "Le Lin Quan - Chinese and Foreign Garden Culture Exhibition," the National Museum of China hosted the "Nine Heavens to Catch the Moon - 20 Years of China's Lunar Exploration Project" exhibition, the Henan Museum launched the online live event "Traveling Through a Thousand Years to Talk About Qingming - The Seasonal Codes in Cultural Relics," and the Shanghai Museum's "Qingming · Workshop" offered hands-on experiences like "Kites Flying High" and "Bamboo Weaving Kicking Ball." Many cultural and museum venues extended their opening hours to meet the public's demand for visits during the holiday.
