# Ministry of Commerce: If the U.S. insists on further escalating trade restrictions, China will resolutely counteract and accompany to the end

On April 9th, Jinshi Data reported that a relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Commerce answered reporters' questions regarding the white paper "China's Position on Certain Issues in China-U.S. Economic and Trade Relations": In recent years, unilateralism and protectionism in the U.S. have been on the rise, continuously implementing trade restrictions such as increased tariffs against China, which seriously disrupts normal economic and trade cooperation between China and the U.S. China has no choice but to take legitimate countermeasures. I want to emphasize that there are no winners in a trade war. China does not want to engage in a trade war, but the Chinese government will never sit idly by while the legitimate rights and interests of the Chinese people are harmed and deprived.
