# Challenge OpenAI! Anthropic launches a $200 Claude chatbot subscription plan

This plan is similar to OpenAI's $200 ChatGPT subscription, offering more comprehensive query responses and priority processing of requests. The company completed a $3.5 billion financing round in March this year, with a valuation of $61.5 billion

According to Zhitong Finance APP, Anthropic announced a new Max subscription plan on Wednesday, charging $100 or $200 per month based on usage. Compared to the current $18 per month Pro package, the $100 package will allow users to send 5 times the number of queries to the Claude chatbot, while the $200 package will provide 20 times the query volume. Anthropic stated that, in general, paid Pro users can send at least 45 messages to Claude within 5 hours.

Like other artificial intelligence (AI) companies, Anthropic has been working to persuade customers and businesses to pay for its software to help offset the enormous costs of building cutting-edge AI models. This new subscription plan is similar to the $200 monthly subscription service that competitor OpenAI launched for its ChatGPT chatbot at the end of last year, although OpenAI's option includes unlimited access to its most powerful AI models.

Anthropic stated that users who purchase the Max plan will receive more comprehensive query responses and will have their requests prioritized during peak traffic times for Claude. The company will also provide Max users with priority access to new AI models and software features.

Anthropic's latest model, Claude 3.7 Sonnet, allows users to choose whether they want a quick answer to a simple question or a more time-consuming response that mimics human reasoning. This novel approach may help the AI startup stand out in the competition.
