# A judge orders Bank of America to pay $540 million in the FDIC lawsuit

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation accused Bank of America of underpaying assessments to the Federal Deposit Insurance Fund. In a ruling announced on Monday, U.S. District Judge Lauren Ali Kahn stated that the amount owed by Bank of America was the underpayment of assessments from the second quarter of 2013 to the end of 2014, plus interest. He ordered Bank of America to pay $540.3 million in this protracted lawsuit
