The three major indices of A-shares in Shanghai and Shenzhen moved individually throughout the day, with the Shanghai Composite Index gaining and losing at 3,300 points, while biopharmaceutical stocks surged in the afternoon

The People's Bank of China today (22nd) conducted a 7-day reverse repurchase operation in the open market amounting to 220.5 billion yuan (same below), with the operation interest rate remaining at 1.5%. Today, 164.5 billion yuan of reverse repos matured, resulting in a net injection of 56 billion yuan. The central parity rate of the yuan against the US dollar was reported at 7.2074, down 19 points.

The three major indices of A-shares opened lower and then moved individually within a narrow range, with the Shanghai Composite Index briefly above 3,300 points. The Shanghai Composite Index rose 8 points or 0.3% for the day, closing at 3,299 points, with a turnover of 452.7 billion yuan. The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 9,870 points, down 35 points or 0.4%, with a turnover of 637.3 billion yuan. The ChiNext Index closed at 1,928 points, down 15 points or 0.8%, with a turnover of 281.1 billion yuan.

Banking stocks performed well, with China Construction Bank (601939.SH) and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (601398.SH) rising 1.2% and 1.4%, respectively.

Retail stocks such as Baida Group (600865.SH) and Bubugao (002251.SZ) both hit the daily limit. Dalian Friendship (000679.SZ) rose 7%. Tourism stocks, however, retreated, with Huazhu Hotels (000428.SZ), Jinling Hotel (601007.SH), and Juntin Hotel (301073.SZ) falling 2.9%-7%.

Biopharmaceutical stocks surged in the afternoon, with FUSHILAI (301258.SZ), ZHONGSHENGYAOYE (002317.SZ), and Pharscin Pharma (002907.SZ) all hitting the daily limit.

Leading semiconductor chip stocks developed individually, with SMIC (688981.SH) down 0.6% and Hua Hong (688347.SH) up 4.2%.

Apple concept stocks continued to decline, with Luxshare Precision (002475.SZ), Dongshan Precision (002384.SZ), and GoerTek (002241.SZ) falling 1.9%-2.7%.

Some automotive stocks rose, with Zhongtong Bus (000957.SZ) hitting the daily limit. King Long Motor (600686.SH) rose 2.4%. Haima Automobile (000572.SZ) rose 1.1%. BYD (002594.SZ) and CATL (300750.SZ) each rose 1.7%
