Utility operating expenses increased by $0.4 million, or 3.1%, mainly due to increased administrative costs and purchased power and water costs, partially offset by decreased supply and treatment costs and payroll and employee benefit costs. ### Other Income Other income increased by $0.2 million, primarily due to an increase in allowance for funds used during construction (AFUDC) as a result of higher long-term construction activity subject to AFUDC. ### Capital Expenditures Artesian invested $10.4 million in the first three months of 2025 in water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including renewals associated with the rehabilitation of aging infrastructure, installation of new mains, upgrading elevated storage tanks, upgrading and replacing meter reading equipment, construction of a new wastewater treatment plant, and upgrading existing pumping stations. ### Outlook / Guidance Artesian Water Company filed a request with the Delaware Public Service Commission to implement new rates to meet a requested incremental increase in revenue of 10.75%, or approximately $9.4 million, on an annualized basis, to support ongoing capital improvement programs and cover increased operational costs. The company anticipates a significant increase in electric supply costs and continued investments in utility plant to maintain reliable and safe service to customers. Forward-looking statements involve risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially from those expressed or implied, including changes in weather, contractual obligations, government policies, and economic conditions. ### Related Stocks - [ARTNA.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/ARTNA.US.md) ## Related News & Research - [Artesian Resources Corporation (NASDAQ:ARTNA) Sees Large Decrease in Short Interest](https://longbridge.com/en/news/282446640.md) - [Artesian Resources Approves New Equity Compensation Plan](https://longbridge.com/en/news/264078383.md) - [Artesian Water Company Announces Credit to Delaware Customers With Proceeds From PFAS Settlement Agreement | ARTNA Stock News](https://longbridge.com/en/news/266616040.md) - [ARTESIAN RESOURCES CORP SEC 10-Q Report](https://longbridge.com/en/news/264913581.md) - [Artesian Resources Q4 revenue rises on rate hikes, customer growth](https://longbridge.com/en/news/278943854.md)
