The Reserve Bank of India released its semi-annual foreign exchange reserves report, disclosing that as of the end of March 2024 for the fiscal year 2024 to 2025, the central bank held a total of 879.59 tons of gold reserves, an annual increase of nearly 58 tons, with an increase of 26 tons in the second half of the fiscal year. In terms of dollar value, the gold reserves of the Reserve Bank of India accounted for 11.7% of total foreign exchange reserves, an increase of 2.4 percentage points compared to the end of September last year.

As of the 25th of last month, India's total foreign exchange reserves were valued at USD 688 billion
