# Former silicon carbide giant Wolfspeed is preparing to file for bankruptcy, plunging 50% in after-hours trading on the US stock market

According to media reports, the American wide bandgap semiconductor developer and manufacturer Wolfspeed is preparing to file for bankruptcy in the coming weeks. Several debt restructuring proposals put forward by creditors have been approved.
