In order to assess the situation of internet insurance products, from October 2024 to April 2025, the Shanghai Consumer Protection Commission, in collaboration with Fudan University, conducted evaluations on a total of 150 mainstream internet insurance products in the market, including 80 medical insurance products, 30 critical illness insurance products, and 40 accident insurance products. Recently, the Shanghai Consumer Protection Commission disclosed the results of this evaluation. The evaluation results show that some internet insurance products still have four major issues: misleading product names, insufficient information disclosure, irregular marketing practices, and lack of human customer service, which affect consumers' right to know and choose. Several insurance intermediary platforms, such as JD Insurance Brokerage Platform, Waterdrop, and Ant Insurance, as well as insurance companies like PICC Property and Casualty, AXA Tianping, and Taikang Online, were specifically named.
