# LKPC: Cimetidine injection has passed the consistency evaluation

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, LKPC (600789.SH) announced that its controlling subsidiary, Shandong LKPC Group Saiter Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Saiter"), has received the "Drug Supplement Application Approval Notice" issued by the National Medical Products Administration regarding the consistency evaluation of the quality and efficacy of Cimetidine injection as a generic drug.

The announcement shows that Cimetidine is a histamine H2-receptor antagonist that inhibits gastric acid secretion. Histamine activates adenylate cyclase by stimulating H2 receptors, increasing the production of cAMP in gastric parietal cells. cAMP activates carbonic anhydrase through protein kinase, catalyzing the formation of H2CO3 from CO2 and H2O, which further dissociates to release H+, leading to increased gastric acid secretion. Cimetidine primarily acts on H2 receptors on parietal cells, competitively inhibiting histamine, thereby suppressing gastric acid secretion. It has a strong acid-inhibiting effect and can effectively suppress both basal gastric acid secretion and acid secretion stimulated by various factors (such as food, histamine, gastrin, caffeine, and insulin), reducing both the amount and acidity of the secretion. It is used to treat gastric pain, heartburn, acid reflux, and gastric and duodenal ulcers caused by excessive gastric acid
