# The U.S. Transportation Secretary stated that there is currently no reason to ground the Boeing 787 following the Indian air disaster

> U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy stated that there is currently no reason to ground the Boeing 787 following the Air India crash. He spoke with the chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board and indicated that there are no direct safety issues with Boeing 787 flights at this time. Relevant teams will travel to India to conduct an investigation

On June 12 local time, CCTV reporters learned that U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Acting Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration Chris Rochelo stated at a press conference that following the Indian Airlines crash that resulted in over 240 deaths, they have not seen any immediate safety data necessitating the grounding of Boeing 787 flights. Duffy mentioned that he had spoken with Jennifer Homendy, Chair of the National Transportation Safety Board. Teams from the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will travel to India with the support of Boeing and engine manufacturer General Electric Aviation. Duffy also stated on the 12th that there are currently no direct safety issues with Boeing 787 flights
