# Indian Airlines' Boeing 787 fleet has no "major safety hazards" -- Indian aviation regulator

> India's aviation safety regulator stated that the investigation into the Boeing 787 fleet of Air India found no significant safety hazards. Although a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed in Ahmedabad a few days ago, resulting in 271 fatalities, the Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that the aircraft and maintenance systems meet safety standards. Currently, 24 out of 33 Boeing 787s have completed safety inspections, and the regulator has recommended that Air India strengthen coordination among departments to ensure sufficient spare parts to reduce passenger delays

Reuters, June 17 - India's aviation safety regulator said on Tuesday that a tracking investigation into the Boeing (BA.N) 787 fleet of Air India found no significant safety issues, days after one of the airline's jets crashed, resulting in at least 271 fatalities.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) stated in a release: "The aircraft and related maintenance systems comply with current safety standards."

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which was en route to London, crashed seconds after taking off from Ahmedabad on Thursday, striking a nearby building. All but one passenger on board were killed, and approximately 30 people on the ground also lost their lives.

The DGCA also noted that out of Air India's 33 Boeing 787 aircraft, 24 have completed "enhanced safety inspections."

Regulators further advised Air India to "strictly adhere to regulations," improve coordination among various business departments, and ensure adequate spare parts to minimize passenger delays
