# Zhou Hanmin suggests: Cooperation between Shanghai and Hong Kong to promote the establishment of an ESG standard system

The 2025 Lujiazui Forum will open on June 18. At "Plenary Session Four: Deepening Cooperation and Development between Shanghai and Hong Kong as International Financial Centers," Zhou Hanmin, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and president of the Shanghai Public Diplomacy Association, stated that in the field of ESG, Shanghai and Hong Kong should carry out unified standard cooperation. The current key issue facing the domestic ESG field is how to choose appropriate international reference standards, as there are hundreds of ESG-related international standards globally, lacking a unified system. As internationally recognized financial centers, Shanghai and Hong Kong have a profound foundation and are highly integrated with international markets, possessing advantages in cooperating to promote the establishment of an ESG standard system
