# 17 banks from Guangdong enter the global top 1000

Recently, The Banker magazine released the list of the top 1,000 global banks for 2025. Reporters noted that the banking industry in Guangdong performed impressively this time, with 17 banks making it to the top 1,000 global banks list, earning the title of "financial powerhouse." This includes 3 joint-stock banks—China Merchants Bank, Ping An Bank, and Guangfa Bank; 1 private bank—WeBank, which is also a fully online digital bank; 5 city commercial banks—Guangzhou Bank, Dongguan Bank, Guangdong Huaxing Bank, Zhuhai Huaren Bank, and Guangdong Nanyue Bank; and 8 rural commercial banks—Guangzhou Rural Commercial Bank, Shenzhen Rural Commercial Bank, Dongguan Rural Commercial Bank, Shunde Rural Commercial Bank, Nanhai Rural Commercial Bank, Foshan Rural Commercial Bank, Jiangmen Rural Commercial Bank, and Zhuhai Rural Commercial Bank
